Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, appointment to begin July 1, 2020. The Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College is directly responsible to the President, is the second-ranking administrative officer of the college, and serves as a member of the President's Council. The Dean is the principal leader who directs the educational mission of the college; oversees college operations pertaining to the academic program, the faculty and academic administration; and serves as a primary liaison between the faculty and the President.

Following on a history of very successful Deans, the next Dean will oversee an academic program that is evolving dynamically to meet the current and future needs of students, all while advancing Cornell's major points of distinction such as the One Course Calendar.  Cornell will launch a new and innovative curriculum in the Fall of 2020 (on the One Course Calendar) and its first graduate program (an MFA in Creative Writing) in the Summer of 2020. Thanks to a strong and productive Dean-Faculty relationship that defines Cornell College and anchors its sense of purpose and momentum, Dean of the College is a highly rewarding position.
