Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA is looking to hire a full-time, 10-month Director of Student Health Services to oversee daily operations of the college's primary student health clinic and provide nursing services beginning in August of 2020. The director provides primary health care for students through a comprehensive approach to health promotion, maintenance, and management. The director also utilizes their professional expertise in history-taking, triage, laboratory skills, data collections, office management, clinical assessment, technical procedures, health education, travel health, and administration.

This Director of Student Health position earns a competitive salary, depending on qualifications and experience, and works reduced hours (5-10 per month) in the summer.   • RN or advanced license from the Iowa Board of Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
  • One to three years of experience in an ambulatory care setting, community health nursing, or school health. 
  • Administrative education or experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with others in a professional environment, to self-regulate and work independently, to provide leadership and make decisions impacting others on a daily basis.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, priorities and organize work and make sound decisions regarding students' health care.
